Learning Experiences

Bird Investigation
The students will explore the different types of birds, their features and nests at their school. They will use the design process to make their own bird nest and consider the impacts of introduced bird species on native species.
Invertebrate Investigation
Students will become young scientists as they dig, explore, and discover the fascinating world of invertebrates. They will use scientific equipment to conduct leaf litter digs and collect and record a variety of invertebrates. Once they have collected their data, students will create a whole-class graph, visually showcasing the diversity of invertebrates found and look at some life cycles.
Tree Investigation
Students become scientists practicing observation, by identifying differences in tree species. They will collect different leaves, seeds and bark and make a natural forest scene artwork.
Environmental Games
The incursion will conclude with a range of engaging and fun games that highlight important environmental messages.
