Geography Skills and Tools - Secondary Teachers

This course provides examples of how to teach Stage 4-6 geographical skills and tools using local environments and the school grounds.

Teachers will be involved in first-hand investigations with an emphasis on fieldwork related to Stage 4-6 Geography.

What to Expect:

Session 1: Practical demonstrations of how to engage and teach stage 4-6 geography geographical skills in relation to interpreting available spatial technologies and collecting and organising data for local environments.

Session 2: Practical (Stage 4-6 Geography) firsthand investigations involving data collection instruments and water testing equipment. Instruments demonstrated include annemometers, clinometres, soil testing equipment, light meters, turbidity tubes. Participants will also be given a product list and buying guide.

Session 3: Participating teachers will view the field work opportunities provided by Rumbalara EEC for local environments and view google sites directly related to each stage of the syllabus.
