High potential and gifted education (HPGE) programs
Our Centre offers outdoor learning programs for students of all ages who are gifted or show high potential.
What is high potential and gifted education?
High potential and gifted education (HPGE) is how our school supports students with advanced learning needs.
We do this through:
- effective teaching strategies like enrichment, extension and acceleration
- tailored support during lessons that stretch, challenge and inspire
- access to a wide range of opportunities both within and beyond our school.
What we offer
Each high potential and gifted education program includes:
- fun, hands-on learning in nature that helps students think in new and deeper ways
- activities are NSW curriculum aligned
- tasks that support creative thinking, problem solving and leadership
- chances to ask big questions, work with others and explore ideas
- learning about caring for Country, sustainability and Aboriginal cultures
- optional classroom activities before and after the visit
- teachers who are trained to support and challenge high potential students
- activities that can be changed to suit your students’ stage, strengths and interests.
