Rumbalara will be offering the Water Efficiency Program (WEP) in Semester 1 and 2, 2025. The program is aimed at Stage 2,3 and 4, and is perfectly suited for student leadership groups and HPGE classes.
Over a semester, participating schools will be supported by a Rumbalara Teacher to strengthen the knowledge and skills of students within your school. This will include:
Working with students to learn about water efficiency and your catchment, conducting a water audit of your school and using this information to plan and conduct water efficiency improvements.
Sharing water efficiency education across a stage group within your school (for larger schools).
Communicating water efficiency news and education with the rest of your school community.
A Rumbalara Teacher will visit your school 5 times over the semester, running activities and supporting your school to develop a Water Saving Action Plan (WSAP). These 5 days will include:
Day 1 - Hands-on activities designed to engage students Water efficiency.
Day 2 - Students complete a water audit and develop a Water Saving Action Plan (WSAP).
Day 3 & 4 - Students work to carry out initiatives within their WSAP.
Day 5 - Students finalise their WSAP and celebrate their learning and conservation contributions.
Your school will receive funding to support the program. This funding will be sent to your school by Rumbalara. This funding is for the release of your coordinating staff member for both training and planning/coordination time to support this program. This could be invested in regular weekly RFF time, or several entire days for programming and coordination. The training day will be led by Mo Elbourne-Binns (Project team leader, Principal at Wambangalang EEC) after contacting your coordinating staff member.
Student EOI - to be completed and returned to Rumbalara EEC.
