Bookings for our environmental education centre can be made online using this BOOKING LINK
It is preferable that schools coordinate the number of excursion days required by all staff for the year and that a stage coordinator completes the form for each stage excursion and distributes the information to other teachers attending. Please nominate a time frame rather than specific dates as we have many schools to fit into our calendar. For 2023 we are asking that schools complete the booking form by the end of Week 3, Term 1.
The price for most of our fieldwork is $7 per student. This provides your school with two Rumbalara Environmental Education Centre (REEC) staff for up to 60 students.
If you require more staff due to larger groups we can provide an extra teacher at the standard rate of $565 per day. REEC will consider a price reduction for schools who are unable to meet costs and submit reasons for difficulties.
Our primary Documentary and Bright Sparks are still $5 per student. Kayaking options also incur additional charges.
We are still available to run local area field work at or near your school. To encourage schools to understand their local environment we only charge $2 per student for these programs.
Please note that the Rumbalara Environmental Education Centre services are only available to public school as the centre is entirely funded by the Department of Education. We are always happy to assist private schools with ideas and suggestions for fieldwork. The Marine Discovery Centre at Terrigal can provide a similar service to private schools and specialise in marine and catchment education.
