In 2025, we will be looking at a project that students are able to work on during Term 2. This will mean that we will work with students and schools to identify a project that is of an appropriate scale to allow students to achieve their goals. If there is sufficient interest, students may wish to continue to build their project in Term 3.
Proposal:
- The program will accept up to 4 -6 students (Stage 3) from 6 schools to participate in the program. Rumbalara staff will each mentor a number of schools.
- The program will include 2 Leadership Days at Rumbalara EEC (or another location) to work with students.
- Rumbalara EEC staff will then mentor participating students and allocate two school visits to support students on their project during the year.
- Expression Of Interest (EOI) will be distributed to schools early Term 1. EOI will include some draft ideas of projects. Principals and teachers are asked to identify students within their school who might be suited to participation in this program. Students may then submit an EOI, which must be approved by their parent/guardian and also their school Principal.
- Skills taught will include how to: implement a leadership initiative; run meetings; set goals; plan actions; monitor milestones and source knowledge to tackle identified issues.
- EOIs close TBC
